I have tried several types of brushes some worked and some not so much. My cat is a short to medium hair kitty and I was surprised to see the amount of hair coming out of him. The only thing is that he didn't like the steam part of the brush {wich is the hole point) but i'll keep using it without it. I was able to turned it on and let some of the burts bees shampoo out on the brush turn it off and then brush my cat... the amount of hair that came out of that few brushes was insane. too bad he did'nt appreciate it...lol I thing that the vibration or low sound that makes when turn on is what he didn't like. I opt for a waterless foam shampoo and then use the brush. I don't use the shampoo that often so i'm ok with that. If your kitty is used to get groomed by a professional or if you bathe them I'm pretty sure they will love the brush with the steam on.
