HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT DOG TOYS FOR YOUR PET? Choosing the right dog toys for your pooch is an important decision. Dog toys should be fun, durable, and most of all, safe. Dogs can make out yellow and blue, and combinations of those colors. This renders a lot of the world grayish-brown. That lush green lawn? It probably looks like a field of dead hay. That bright red velvet cushion? Still comfy, but it probably comes across as a dark brown blob to the dog. When you’re throwing a ball or a bumper for your dog to retrieve in the grass or the lake, don’t choose something red, or he’s likely to lose it. And if you’re teaching him to differentiate between two toys or obedience training dumbells, it would be wise to go for one blue and one yellow. The most popular colors for dog toys today are red or orange. However red and orange are difficult for dogs to see. That means that when your own pet version runs right past the toy that you tossed, she may not be stubborn or stupid. It may be your fault for choosing a toy with a color that is hard to discriminate from the green grass of your lawn. Soft & Squeaky Dog Toys Are Fine For Gentler Dogs Some dog loved to carry around her plush toys. She was gentle with them and would never rip them apart. However, many dogs do like to play rough with their plush toys. If your dog likes to “rip apart” his or her toys, take note of any toy that contains a “squeaker” buried in its center. Your dog may feel that he must find and destroy the squeak-source and could ingest it, in which case squeaking objects should be “supervision only” toys. Please do not let your dog swallow these toys, especially the squeakers, just be sure to throw away the damaged toys before they get swallowed!!!

I was given this toy as a gift for my basset puppy. He loved it. There is little fluff in the mice with individual squeakers so beware if your dog loves to rip toys up for the squeakers. Overall love the toy!
