My cat wife is so constipated that I also have to give her a 1/2 teaspoon of MiraLAX mixed in with a little of wet cat food, and she is about 16 pounds which is why it has to be a 1/2 teaspoon of MiraLax that I buy at the grocery store under the instructions of my professional Veterinarian, and the rhythm is that on the day of a good bowel movement I pass up giving her the MiraLAX, and on the very next day I give a 1/2 of a teaspoon of MiraLAX each day until another good and again and on that day I pass up the treatment only to follow the next days with the MiraLAX until the day of a good bowel movement and again I pass up the MiraLAX only on that day; however, it does seem to work better of a 1/4 of MiraLAX in the morning and a 1/4 of MiraLAX in the evening, but that means that I need more wet cat food; therefore, I just do 1/2 of a teaspoon once with a little of wet cat food, and the rest of the time she gets this dry cat food mixed in with the dry cat food for Urinary problems that occurred with her constipation that also had her throwing up all the time as well, and when I stay on the rhythm of the MiraLAX all of the problems disappeared meaning that there is no constipation and no urinary problems and no throwing up all of the time. I wish that I was wealthy enough to create a dry cat food with MiraLAX mixed in and it makes me wonder why someone like Purina has not already done this because it would solve so many problems for cat lovers and their overall health where good bowel movements are definitely required.I bought these dishes thinking that being larger around than our shallow stainless bowls, wet cat food would stay in the dish instead of ending up being pushed out onto the floor as my cats eat. With their stainless bowls which have higher sides than these bigger shallow dishes, some food ends up on the floor which I hoped to correct. I also thought that the ridges (concentric circles) inside the dish would aide in keeping we food from moving up the sides. Turned out it's quite the opposite. The food moves up the sides of these shallow dishes and falls right out almost immediately. I'm so disappointed. When my Maine Coons eat, they end up pushing the food toward the edge of whatever dish they are using. My other cats in the past have done this too. Short of buying a bowl with straight sides, I'm not sure there's a way to actually prevent food from falling out of the bowl but these very nice looking bowls make the problem FAR worse.I bought the nice white ones and they are very nice looking and seem to be solid. They are easy to clean, but they don't contain the food for long, and I would forget trying to use them for dry food! That would be on the floor in a blink instead of two blinks!I did buy the CatGuru "table" (round dish elevator, slightly bigger than the dish) thinking that it would catch anything that happened to fall out (also thinking that most of the food would not fall out at all). I was wrong on that account too. The table is barely bigger around than the dish so food that falls out of the dish sometimes ends up between the edge of the table and the dish but most of it falls right onto the floor. The table would be much better were it an inch or more larger around than the dish that is set on top of it. For that reason, we have gone back to using the stainless bowls which are small around than this CatGuru dishes, and I sat them on the CatGuru table so that they are elevated. I'll need to put rubber feet on the bowls so that they don't slide around on the table though. The bottom line is, these white CatGuru food dishes are very nice looking and they gave me hope of no more food on the floor and made me happy thinking I was giving our two Maine Coons something special, but in the end, these dishes are a big fail. Food was all over the table and floor in an instant. My cat likes this plate better than the bowl she was using. My only complaint is that she has to chase the food around like she would on any plate and won’t eat what goes on the floor, which was why we were using a bowl. She staring acting like her whiskers were sensitive, so I thought we would give this a try. Glad she likes it. It is heavy, sturdy, and easy to clean. The small notch cut out at the bottom for easy of picking up is a nice touch. We’ve been using it for several months now and haven’t gone back to the bowl.I really like these cat food dishes. My big Maine Coon can easily eat all of his nummies without having to use his paws to try & dig out the wet food that would stick around the bottom of his old bowls. I don't know if he had "whisker stress" before, but I do know that all of the food now gets consumed and nothing goes to waste. They are easy for both of us to clean. :)These bowls are great!East to clean, great size, love the stainless steel construction, love the silicone mats, and love the cutouts at the base allowing for east handling. All of the features surpass my overall functionality expectations—especially the price. My cat likes them, too! No more shaking his head, during eating, due to whisker fatigue. He gets plenty of refills of clean water, since the bowl is shallow and gets refilled (and cleaned) daily. The bowls hold the perfect amount of food (about a 1/2 cup) for a 2x a day feeding schedule.Placed this right in the dishwasher daily and held up well. The well is not very deep. It seamed as though the wet food would easily get pushed out and leave a mess often.I went through this crazy roller coaster ride of trying to find wet food my cats will eat. I would find one they would gobble up for a week or two then suddenly would specifically pick out the small amount of dry kibble I put in. I thought they wanted just the kibble.I bought one of these and problem solved instantly. They eat every single bowl of wet food I put down now. 100% recommend.Easy to use and the cat seems to like them. However there’s no lip on them, so she ends up eating the last of her dinner off the floor around the dish where it’s fallen. Messy! Not sure if the stainless is of better quality when compared to the exact whisker fatigued designed bowl offered by big box stores but it feels heavier. Will update with weighing laterThe silicone pad it comes with is nice but I was hoping it would also fit into the catguru raised bowl support. So that when the bowl is placed on the stand it won’t scratch it but the silicone pad prevents the bowl from fitting when squeezed into the riser.Edit - ok taking off stars. Just noticed they have raised the price by $20 as of Jan 2022. Gouge ! Quality does feel better then the 7$ ones from big box plus the notch makes it sooo much easier to pick up off the floor. But cmon the price increase is almost criminal. This is very good product. It doesn't slide on the floor, is easy to clean and is non skid. I didn't expect a plastic item to look so good for this price tbh. Ideal for wet food. My cat didn't say a word about her whiskers relief though:)I must note here that it was shipped and delivered momentarily! Shipped the same day as ordered, delivered with courier (tracked and with notification!!) the day after.UPDATE: I'm lowering the stars and I'd like to put the WARNING to cat owners. Despite the glossy surface, it is plastic and it deteriorates so it cannot be cleaned good enough after a while. I used this bowl once a day for 2 years and I regret it so much now. I cleaned them after each meal (wet food) but overtime they turned yellowish and less glossy and I couldn't clean all yellowish staining out no matter how hard I tried. I thought it's not a big deal since I wash them daily but nope it is actually big deal!! My cat got chin acne (fat chin syndrome) and they say plastic dish is main contributor to the infection because it's porous and supports bacteria growth! If you have these, don't keep them for too long! All my above comment still applies they're nice at the start... but once you see first signs of deterioration, switch to ceramic, glass, or even metal for the health of your furry buddies!I purchased the two pack stainless steel ‘whisker relief’ bowls because in a regular dish my cat was only eating the top part of his wet food and never finished it. So I watched him eat a few times and it dawned on me that maybe he didn’t like his whiskers touching the dish. I had never heard of whisker stress because all of my previous cats never had a problem with this. I’m so glad I came across these ‘stress free’ eating bowls. Since using these my cat eats all of his wet and dry food. In the picture I provided you can see that one bowl is elevated on the CatGuru stand/table also available for about $18.00 I am so pleased with these that I have ordered two more stainless steel bowls and two more cat stands. It’s a bit pricy but they will last forever and they’re worth every penny. Thank you CatGuru. We bought these to replace the plastic plates we were using, after our cat got feline acne on his chin. The dishes have some ribbing, with keeps the food from sticking too much, and letting the cats eat easily.I wish there were 2 cutouts on the sides of the bowls to make it easier to pick up and the edge of the bottom of the bowl is a bit sharp. A rubberized edge would be preferable to the silicone tray they come with.
