I have owned dogs and sponsored numerous cats (One does not really own a cat as any cat lover knows) in my lifetime. For the most part dogs are usually easy to understand but cats are a whole another breed. At the present time we have two elderly brother and sister pair of cats living with us. Even though they are supposed to be related, each one has a different personality and you have to figure out what they want at various times. I have read numerous books about cats over the years and when I saw this one (Cat Talk: What your cat is trying to tell you by Carole C. Wilbourn, who calls herself a cat therapist) for a bargain price on Amazon I purchased it. As we cat lovers all know they are sometimes complex and mysterious creatures. The author of this book explains in great detail the many different habits of cats she has had as well as cats she had to evaluate for her clients. This book is organized into thirteen areas. They are as follows: (1) what is my cat trying to tell me? (2) Anticipation (3) happiness (4) Sadness or discomfort (5) rage (6) expressions of anxiety (7) choice (8) eating patterns (9) toilet habits (10) breathing (11) sex (12) relationships (13) Cats” reactions to their people’s feelings and body language.I really enjoyed reading this book and the information was interesting and valuable. The various stories about the cats she has treated provided insight into my own cats. If you are a cat lover this is a book you should put on your list of must reads.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J.
