My cats don't use it much. It is soft but they prefer their other bed better.He just love sleep in there he know this is he new bed and don’t want go back to he’s old bed no more , and nice Color !My young prince prefers to sleep on the bed, and wouldn't budge; however, my cousin's baby loves it.The opening is so much bigger than the pictures indicate ...at least it is on the one we received. We thought it would be more like a cave. The cat sniffed it and has refused to lay in it. She is not normally a picky cat, but this does nothing for her. Very disappointed in this product.Seems to be quality build and materials, but my cats don't seem interested.Rating is based on the perceived quality of the product. My cats' tastes shouldn't hurt the review too much as other peoples' pets may have a different opinion than mine.I have this outside under a loveset and umbrella for the outdoor kitties to sleep in. One kitty in particular has taken to it and he will rest in it during the day. At night, the visiting raccoon like to climb in and grab a quick snooze on his (her?) travels thru the neighborhood.Got this for the animal shelter where I work, and the cats really seem to love it. The removable cushion is easy to throw in the washer, which is important. The overhang gives the cats a sense of security. Very nice cat bed.The CRTING cat bed is soft, and cats like the enclosing igloo-like shape. There are 3 components: the "igloo", a mat that helps the bed to hold its shape, and the filled pad which fits over the mat. The pad has a zippered opening in case you need to add or replace filling. The fact that these components are separate means that the pad can be removed by itself for cleaning in case the cat spits up a hairball, etc.Initially it seemed that the igloo might be too flimsy to support itself without collapsing, but it has become firmer since being released from the compression bag in which it was shipped.Our two cats seem to like their new beds (see picture), although it took them a day of two to accept the strange new "furniture", especially since it had a slight odor for a day or so. We will see how the fabric holds up to the cats' kneading the pad with their claws (which they seem to do when they're comfortable).
