I want to start by saying that you can't really honestly rate dog toys on whether they are chewable or sturdy or durable, being that everybody has a different size and type of dog and every dog's personalities different as to whether or not they destroy things, are chewers, or intelligence level. Just like how some dogs will flip over and shake their snuffle mats to get all the treats out- that's pretty smart LOL. While other dogs will forage through them like they're intended for. But I really really like this puzzle I uploaded a video for training tips since I'm a professional dog trainer. It can be used for beginners because you can simply place the treats under the flaps. Tip I forgot to add in the video is that you can smear peanut butter or start putting the treats on the top of it first to help train them how to push down on it. I have a Papillon who is a medical alert service dog, and he's been through every puzzle they sell this is his newest one cuz I just now saw it advertised and he's just that spoiled LOL. He is really scared of the sound even though he's not scared of all the different sounds and stores and don't public aside from Tire crash or a gunshot or knocking on any door really sets him off. So I demonstrate my video on how to train with this toy the same way you would with clicker training, if your dog is scared of the sound. You want to start with placing teeny tiny treats just a few feet away or wherever your dog is comfortable with, and as he is grabbing the tree push down the button. You might have to push it down slowly at first so it's not so loud. But if you know what you're doing or you know anything about dogs that shouldn't be too hard to train your dog to do it, and I like that challenge of course I don't want to keep getting him stuff he already knows how to do that's no fun. But overall this is a really cool toy it's not going to last very long you can tell but nothing that dogs own last for years. It's not the way it works. You can always put it up after you're done instead of leaving it on the floor for your dog to chew up but of course all these puzzles are made out of plastic. This one's not super thin but it's just a cheap dog to leave like all of them are. You definitely wouldn't want to leave it down on the floor for your German Shepherd or pitbull after the treats are gone you want to pick it up with any breed or type of dog anyways. If your dog is real scared of it then all you need to do is use a higher reward tree like little tiny pieces of cut up hot dog that I'm doing in the video. Overall it is definitely worth the money and he's having a lot of fun learning and getting used to it because he knows all puzzles mean treats so they're willing to learn to get them specs of hot dog.
