High Visibility Reflective Cat Jacket & Harness for Adult Cats - Safe Outdoor Walking & Nighttime Adventures

Having purchased 4 harness prior to the Mynwood, this is the only one that was designed and refined for cats. Hauns, a 2 year old male cat, a 10 lb. Persian-body-type, seemed to be hard to fit with the other harnesses. The straps were either too loose to keep him in the harness or too tight for comfort. He escaped from all of them. The escapes happen during panic triggered by sudden noises, dogs, etc. He would run to the end of the leash and be jerked to a stop and all the other harness put the heavy stopping load on his throat. So the sudden stop hurt him which may work for a dog, but for a cat it made him fight harder to escape. One semi-vest with straps seemed promising, but I they all seemed to be light revisions of dog harnesses. The Mynwood harness is designed for cats! The velcro-closures are sewn into the entire length of the front and back sections, maybe 8 inches long on both sides so there is lots of adjustment. It takes a little practice to line up the velcro because it's hard to see: The velcro is black and the cloth on the inside is black. When I got the proper snug fit, he was also comfortable! I marked the fitting, the start point for mating both velcro closures on the outside of the harness with a Sharpie so it's very easy not to get the fit right the first time and it's fast. The panic test happened the first day. Something scared him. He was running full-speed when the leash ran out at 20 feet, but he was simply stopped by the harness. He didn't thrash around or ball-up like he was in pain. It looks to me like the stopping pressure was distributed to his chest and the back of the harness kept him aligned with the leash. Reminds me of the way car seat-belts work. So it's important to align the velcro side to side because it affects the shape of the belts for fit and function. The Mynwood is elegantly simple, well constructed and effective.
