I like this shelf. I bought three. It's the only style shelf unit that I ordered so I can't compare it to the others except from the online description. My cat is large and somewhat chunky so I needed a larger shelf. She fits on this one and can fit on a single shelf if she makes like a loaf...otherwise she couldn't stretch out on just one shelf by itself. It's not exactly a room with a view but she liked it. To adhere the sisal mat you attach the provided velcro sticky tape between the wood platform & mat. Be sure to orient the long leg of the bracket below the wood shelf and not attach to the wall. Instructions are minimal. DIrections call for mounting the brackets to the wall first, then place the platform on the brackets and install. Problem is that it's hard to drill upward into a loose piece of wood. We figured out where the brackets should go and installed them on the wall first. We then marked the location of the bracket holes on the wood, then placed the wood onto a table and pre-drilled the holes with the supplied screws, removed the screws, then put the wood shelf back on to the brackets and attached to the bracket with the screws. If you don't attach the brackets to the wall first, it's hard to get an accurate alignment of the bracket up against the wall.My cat loves this, she rubs her face all over it and likes to hang out and watch. It didn’t take long to put it up once I figured out where I wanted it. I did wind up getting better wall anchors and screws since I put it up in dry wall, I didn’t trust how short the included ones were and don’t want it to come down.We have a small dog and this is a perfect ledge for him!You could easily make this yourself but I didn’t want to deal with that so I paid the price for the convenience. It was missing one strip of Velcro but it should be fine.. My cat loves them.Bought for my senior cat to sit above the reclining chair. Very easy to set up and my cat loves itWe have a small female cat that our recently rescued dog wants to kill. The cat now lives in the master bath, and she needs a place to escape the dog in case someone leaves the door open.She’s very timid and shy, so I was concerned she wouldn’t like this new thing in her space. I put her up there before we installed any steps, and she LOVED it. She purred immediately and made it difficult for me to catch her to get her down. Once we have steps installed, she’ll have a safe place to escape the dog.A bit overpriced, but convenient.
