Cute and adorable but my apartment is mostly carpeted and it just does nothing fun.The cays both watch the toy before one will play with it. The ball does not move as much as I had hoped.I was hoping I could get this instead of the high priced automatic balls. My puppy at started by ripping off the flap the covers the charging plug. He played with it for a while and within a half hour ripped off the rubber wrap. Now it’s a plastic ball but still seems to be rolling. Shrug. I guess maybe it’d work foe a cat. And I didn’t even bother with the feather.I ended up returning this ball because I purchased it for my 5 pound Papillon. The ball was way bigger than it appeared in the listing. I also expected it to be a "softer" material, but it was hard and it actually frightened my dog. He wouldn't stop barking at it because he was scared of it. It would probably be better for a larger dog, like 20+ pounds or so, who isn't as delicate as my little rescue. I was really hoping it would be fun for him. Oh well. And it didn't come with a remote.This toy worked better than I thought it would, and it rarely gets stuck. My kitty usually is afraid of motorized toys, but he wasn't afraid of this one. I recommend.If this is mentioned in the listing, i missed it. This ball is hard plastic. Maybe a cat would be happy batting it about, but a dog wants to grab it with its teeth. This ball cannot be grabbed as the hard cover prevents this. Had to return it.Toy started out to be fun for 3 seconds. After that the toy was done for. Dog broke it after not even 1 minute. It's in so many different pelieces I can't even return it.Cats would not play with.
